Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Statement on William Dearmon Departure
Ruston, LA – The Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce (RLCC) has announced the planned departure of its president and CEO, William Dearmon, who has accepted a new role with Louisiana Tech University beginning January 1, 2025.
“Will’s strategic leadership has been transformative for the Chamber”, said Thomas Graham, Chairman of the RLCC Board of Directors. “His collaborative approach, coupled with a clear vision for the future, has yielded impressive results: a successful rebrand, the launch of several key initiatives, and strengthened community partnerships. The foundation he has built will ensure continued success for the Chamber”.
Since joining the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber in March 2022, Dearmon oversaw record membership growth and member retention. Under Dearmon’s leadership and in partnership with an energized and committed board of directors, the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber launched a Workforce Development Grant Initiative, two executive speaker series and developed a three-year strategic impact plan to guide the organization’s work into the future.
“It has been an honor to serve the Ruston-Lincoln business community and specifically this chamber as President and CEO for the last several years”, said Dearmon. “I am so proud of the accomplishments and progress made by the board of directors and our dedicated staff. I look forward to supporting this organization as it continues to grow and meet the needs of our business community”.
To ensure a smooth transition, the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber Executive Board has appointed Elizabeth Turnley, former chairwoman of the board, to serve as interim president effective December 15th, 2024. Presidential search details will be announced in the coming weeks.
“Finally, I want to personally thank Will for his strategic leadership of our Chamber”, continued Graham. “As we move forward, our board has a significant opportunity ahead of us, and I am confident in our collective ability to identify the right leader who aligns with our vision and values”.
